“Haaland is an outstanding player and it definitely makes them a stronger team. You have to know that Pep thinks about it as much as I do. The team is always changing.

“We also get new players and lose one of the players who play regularly (Sadio Mane), so this takes time. What happened to City happened to us too. But when you see City play, see how they pass the ball into the box. Seeing Erling’s positioned position, it was difficult not to score.”

“But City have lost a lot of players and are in transition. Maybe even more than us It was one of the steps in the rebuilding of the already successful team: they lost Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, who have been in the starting XI for many years. Oleksandr Zinchenko is the same with Fernandenho. Either retire or maybe go back to Bravil. Everyone used to be important to City.”

“And this season is still a long way off. There is also a World Cup in the middle. No one knows what will happen next,” said Jurgen Klopp.
